About Warraq
Warraq is a set of small tools for everyday file problems: a scanned page you need as text, a recording you want written down, scattered files you want in one place. They run in your browser, for free.
The story
In our history, the warraq copied books by hand, letter by letter, to keep them and pass them on. We chose the name because the job is the same: we take what is in an image, a recording or a sheet of paper and hand it back as a file you can use.
Warraq started from daily work with files: Excel reports merged every day, scanned documents that had to be copied, recordings waiting to be written down. The tools out there were either English-only or wanted our files on servers we didn't know. So we built what we needed, then opened it to everyone.
What we stick to
- 01
Your file is yours
The tools run in your browser, so your file doesn't reach us. No accounts, no tracking of people. If there's a server option, we say so plainly, and it only runs if you choose it.
- 02
Arabic first
The tools were made for Arabic from day one: writing direction, hamza variants, Arabic file names and fully vowelled Quran text.
- 03
Honest about limits
We tell you when a result needs checking and what each tool can't do. When something fails, we tell you why and what to do.
What you can do
Every tool is free and runs in your browser.
